A Collaborative Project between U.S. and Australian Students

Brisbane Introduction Hi, we are from St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace in Brisbane, Australia. Our school is an all boy's catholic school for students in years 5 to 12. As a class we have been considering media representations of the Bronx.	Taft Introduction Hi, we are from Taft High School located in the Bronx, which is in New York. We were very excited to participate in a project where we communicated with students half way around the world.
The project steps we followed: Before any classroom discussion with our teacher, we wrote down what we knew about the Bronx Our teacher then asked us to explain where we had gained our perceptions of the Bronx from We watched the film "Rumble in the Bronx" and wrote a response to it We wrote questions that we want students at Taft High School in the Bronx to answer	The project steps we followed: We held classroom discussions about stereotypes and the media We looked at some websites that had poetry from Australia We watched the film "Walkabout" and had discussions about it We wrote responses to the students in Brisbane We took pictures of ourselves and the Bronx
