On-Site Support / In-Classroom Support
Our most effective offering
is our In-Classroonm Support. Staff development is most effective
when supported over time via follow-up on-site support that happens
directly in the schools and classsrooms. The purpose of on-site
and in-classroom support is to continue to guide teachers and educators
in the application of strategies and knowledge gained in the seminars
and workshops or other professional develompent programs.
In-classroom support
focuses on encouraging the developmental learning and use of new
media from a teaching professional's perspective. Individual sessions
are tailored to meet specific school, teacher, and student needs.
Workshop staff can provide support by:
- Modeling strategies
for integrating new media into the classroom
- Modeling the use of
technology in the classroom
- Co-teaching (i.e.
assisting with implementing a new media project in the classroom)
- Assisting teachers
with tracking down a hard-to-find resource
- Troubleshooting
- Hosting drop-in skill
building clinics (click
here for an example)
- Offering individual
training and assistance with finding or using resources
Through our Partner
School efforts, the majority of work we do is onsite or in the
classroom. When working in a contractual arrangement through a Collaboration,
a minimum of five on-site support days is recommended for each project.
