Curriculum Development
A relatively new area for Media Workshop,
we are expanding our work to include curriculum development. Through
our close work with educators throughout the years, we have been assisting
them with developing curriculum units, lesson plans, online Web Quests
and technology-based projects that they can use in their instruction.
Many of these projects can be viewed in our project
database.
On a broader scale,
we are now exploring ways in which we can continue this curriculum
development to address unique non-traditional areas of instruction,
such as arts education, museum education or physical education.
In 2002, the National
Track and Field Hall of Fame Museum contracted Media Workshop to
assist in designing health and fitness curriculum that utilizes
technology, which will optimally supplement a museum experience.
The end result of the collaboration was the development of five
discrete curriculum units that focus on various aspects of Track
and Field, as well as health and fitness activities.

We are
eager to continue exploring ways in which more curriculum can
be developed in these non-traditional areas of instruction.
