Teacher Consultation/On-Site Support
Staff development is
most effective when supported over time via follow-up on-site support.
The purpose of on-site support is to continue to guide teachers
and educators in the application of strategies and knowledge gained
in Critical Basics/Workshops, Design Teams, and other professional
development programs.
On-site support focuses on supporting the developmental learning
and use of new media from a teaching professional's perspective.
Individual sessions are tailored to meet specific school, teacher,
and student needs. Workshop staff can provide support by:
- Modeling strategies
for integrating new media into the classroom
- Modeling the use of
technology in the classroom
- Co-teaching (i.e.
assisting with implementing a new media project in the classroom)
- Assisting teachers
with tracking down a hard-to-find resource
- Troubleshooting
- Hosting drop-in skill
building clinics (click
here for an example)
- Offering individual
training and assistance with finding or using resources
A minimum of five on-site
support days is recommended for each project.

Our approach
to new media and technology integration is grounded in student-centered,
collaborative, and inquiry-based strategies for teaching and learning.
