"We must remember to respect life and take everything out of it possible. We are blessed to have as much security, as many of us do, (and I don’t mean policing and the military). Life is so beautiful and precious and there are so many intangible things and experiences we can value."

"Don’t think about war, not greed, not vengeance. Vengeance does not breed happiness. Live life to the fullest, put all your passion into loving others, and not hate. Love your family, your friends. Love those who do you wrong. Love those who tell you are wrong they may be justified in their actions. Keep an open mind. Question everything."

"People often say that New Yorkers are the rudest, most inconsiderate people. I disagree. After the events of 9/11/01, I have felt connected with each and every New Yorker, because we have all come together. The terrorists did not destroy us. They have brought us together. 5000 people died in the attack that day. There are 50,000 people in the World Trade Center. That means that 90% of the people targeted lived. The rates in D.C are even higher."

"I HATE WAR! Why can’t we live in peace? What did we as people do wrong? I guess everything that happens, happens for a reason. There are truly no words to describe how I feel about this whole tragedy. In some ways I haven’t even come to grip with anything yet. You know it’s true that things don’t affect you till it hits home. But maybe all this happened to show how strong one nation could be. All I know is that "We Shall Overcome"! May all those people that had their lives taken on that day, rest in peace."

"Last night I am in my apartment and I hear a fighter jet fly over my building. It was the loudest one I have ever heard. I think to myself about the last time I heard one which was on September 11th, is this what I have to look forward to for the next couple of years, but at the same time I felt safe."

"Hope for the future is there. It starts with our generation. Terrorists will not exist unless we do nothing about it. Friends will not only exist here, there are 8 billion people in the world, don’t let them go to you. You go to them. Family, your bloodline, your friends, always. Even though 99% you may not like, there is always that 1% that you discover that you will cherish. Religion, always to look at things in a different way and see how others came out of depression."

"The key to success is to never give up. Always keep your head up and follow your heart, because sometimes the brain doesn’t work. But you’re heart always will."

"It’s only the tears that we discover our strength and courage. The more tears shed, the stronger we become."

"There is hope for the future of all mankind, for all of life. Though these times are hard and we all seem to be lost in an abyss of confusion and pain, we cannot dwell. It is our fear and anger that seems to be working against us now. We have lost, but what has happened can make us change and grow if we let it. Hardships bring wisdom. On every warm morning and the pure smile of a child, innocent to loss, we can grow. Not merely as Americans, but as living, breathing, seeing beings capable of love and forgiveness. And in this we will and more importantly we will evolve. Although a lot of lives were lost, I think the event taught America a lot about unity and how precious life is. I never
would have thought New Yorkers would have been polite to complete strangers, but they were after that."
