A ubiquitous buzz phrase in education claims that, "The Internet expands the walls of the traditional classroom." Yes, the technology has been developed, and many schools have procurred these resources, but how does an educator integrate these tools into the day-to-day classroom experience? Exploring the functionality of the Internet and breaking apart its components, this workshop will show you how to use the Internet as a tool for inquiry-based research projects within the classroom. Use the first section of this site, Computer Basics, to learn about and/or review how a computer works in order to prepare for more advanced concepts and skills. After completing this workshop you will be able to use the Internet as a integral classroom learning tool.
