This lesson will help you spice up your ordinary writing by creating special effects on your text. This is especially useful for designing the writing on the cover or title page of your book. Check out these examples and names of the effects below:
Creating special effects on ordinary text: 1. Write the text you would like to use to create an effect.
2. Remember, if you need to change the font, size, or color of the text, use the options at the top of your screen.
3. In the layer window, click on the current layer. It will have a big T in the middle of it.
4. You are now ready to apply a special effect. In the top menu bar, choose Layer --> Layer Style --> Blending Options. Check the box next to the special effects that you would like. Experiment with the values and scales that appear and click OK. The example below used Drop Shadow.
5. To change any effects, click on the effects button in the layer window and choose the effect you wish to change. A solid dot next to the effect means it is currently selected. To delete an effect, select the effect and uncheck the box in the window that appears.
