Creating borders around your text can enhance the look of your writing. Before creating the border, write the words/text that will go inside the border first.
Creating a border: 1. Write the text that will go inside the border first.
2. In the Layer window, click on the layer below your writing/text. In many cases you will have to click on the "Background" layer. Insert a new layer. One way of inserting a layer is to go to the layer menu in the top menu bar, and selecting New --> Layer. Here is another way:
3. You should now have a new layer. Check your layer window against the one below.
4. It is now time to draw the border. In the tool bar, select the rectangle tool. Sometimes it is hiding behind another tool below the Text tool (T). Also, make sure the foreground is white and the background is black.
5. Draw a box around your text.
6. In the top menu bar, choose Layer --> Layer Style --> Stroke. This will put an outline around your writing. By experimenting with the values in the menu that pops up, you can create a border.
7. When you click OK, you will have a border similar to the one below:
