I (FSAS/FSBS)
Beginners vocabulary and grammar. This course introduces the participant
with no prior knowledge of Spanish to the basic grammar structure
of the language through oral and written drills and exercises
that emphasize communication in real life situations. The culture
of Spanish-speaking countries is introduced through various media.
Spanish
II (FSES/FSFS)
This Spanish course is designed to develop better communication
skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). Beginning
with review of basic aspects of the language, it is followed by
more advanced structures, more vocabulary and idiomatic expression
to acquire a better proficiency in the language.
Spanish
III (FSGS/FSHS)
This course develops and significantly expands the studentsŐ proficiency
in Spanish through a wealth of communicative activities. Reading
comprehension and creative written self-expression are more strongly
more emphasized at the advance level. This course culminates in
the NYS Regents Exam in Spanish and a thorough review of previously
studied structures and vocabulary prepares the student structures
and vocabulary prepares the students to pass the exam.

IV (FSKN/FSLN)
In this advanced class students further development their communicative
proficiency in Spanish while deepening their insights into Hispanic
culture through an exposure to works of modern writers of the
Spanish-speaking world.
French
I (FFAS/FFBS)
Beginners vocabulary and grammar. This course introduces the participant

French-speaking countries is introduced through various media.

II (FFES/FFFS)
This second year French class develops strong communication skills.
Classroom activities progress from drills reinforcing basic grammatical
structures to exercises of a more communicative approach. Students
delve more in-depth into various aspects of cultures of the Francophone
world.
