E-Mail Attachments

Here are general instructions on how to download an attachment from
e-mail:
- Open the e-mail message that contains the attachment.
- Click on the attachment button/icon.
- Choose "Open it" or "Save to Disk," and then click OK to either view
the file right there or save it onto your hard drive or a floppy disk.
If you choose to save to disk, watch where you are saving the file before
you click OK. People often forget to take note of where they are saving
the file exactly on their computer.
- You have now downloaded the attachment.
To open the attachment:
- Find the folder or place on the computer where you saved your file.
- Double-click on the file to open.
- Note: If you do not remember where you saved it, but you remember
the name of the file, click on the Start button of the task bar. Go to
Find --> Files or Folders. Type in the file name and let the computer
search for your file. Now, double-click the file to open.
Special notes:
- In Eudora or Microsoft Outlook, you can double-click directly on the
attachment in the message window to open the attachment.
- Some e-mail programs will display the attachments (such as pictures
and HTML advertisements) in your message without you having to download
them.
- If you cannot open a file by double-clicking on it, try launching
a program you think might open it, and then go to the File menu in the
top menu bar and choose "Open". If this does not work, ask
the sender of the file to resend the attachment in a file format you
can use.
