Introduction

You have been selected to be the new ambassador for an Ancient civilization!  You would like to attract surrounding civilizations to trade with you by promoting your civilization.

Task

You and your group become ambassadors of an ancient civilization you have studied in global history. Identify the time period of the ancient civilization you have chosen.  It is your group's job to excite people about your land.  Be sure to mention scientific inventions, political advances (e.g. set of laws), architectural and artisitic achievements.

Process

Step 1: Meet with your group members.

Step 2: Each group member picks one of the following roles:

• Scientific Reporter- responsible for finding the most important technological achievements of your civilization
• Political Correspondent- responsible for explaining the type of government your civilization has developed
• Curator- responsible for collecting and describing art and architecture from your civilization
• Literary Reporter- responsible for finding and reporting on literary works relating to your civilization

Step 4: Work with your group to create a travel brochure promoting your civilization to other cultures.

Each student will receive:

Individual Grade- based on class participation.
Group Grade- overall grade based on the brochure created for your civilization.
