The purpose of these hands-on seminars is to introduce teachers to how technology can support literacy in the classroom. Teachers will learn advanced internet concepts, ways to use multimedia in the classroom, and new media applications and tools. The seminars will also introduce participants to techniques for finding, using, and critically evaluating information on the Web. Particular attention is given to how new media can support literacy across the entire curriculum, and support student learning and encourage classroom communications. Through these workshops, teachers have the opportunity to apply what they have learned by creating curriculum projects.
