INTRODUCTION
| Introduction | The
Japanese course at the High School for Environmental Studies started up
with the private foundation in 1996, and it has been growing every
year. It is a three year course, and students will be able to earn
the Regents diploma upon their success on the Regents exam.
In this program, cultural understanding, which enhances students' ability to acquire Japanese language and improve their proficiency, will be emphasized in addition to speaking, listening, writing and reading. Students will also have opportunities to....... *Participate in an
exchange program to Japan sponsored by the Mitsui scholarship program and
the Board of *Participate in the
Haiku contest, the History Day contest sponsored by the Japan Society, the
Nengajo contest *Enjoy extra
cultural activities in the Japanese class: watch Japanese movies
including animation, make art *Go on field trip twice a year (Japanese restaurant, Mitsuwa Japanese supermarket, tea ceremony, etc....) *Join the Spring Festival at the United Nations International School in March. |
