| La
Missión: To explore the countries of the Spanish-speaking world.
(Latin America,
South America, and Spain) |
| Objectivo:
You will choose from one of three roles and find information that
pertains to a person of that position. |
Los
papeles
(The
roles)
|
- Un líder political
- With political turmoil existing in most countries, it is your goal
to demonstrate the array of opportunities within your country. In an attempt to boost your own economy,
you are trying to bring in new employees. Promote employment opportunities. Explore the religions which are represented
and encourage people to practice their faith in your communities.
Find out about benefits, such as health care and education, which
may entice people to move to your country.
You need to attract people to your country in order to increase
your economy and become a stronger nation.
|
- Un
agente de viajes - As a travel agent,
you need to encourage people from around the world to visit your country
for a vacation. Find out why people would want to visit and what
you have to offer that does not exist elsewhere. Discover local
monuments, palaces, museums, or beaches. Put together a few packages
including nice hotels and reasonable airfare. Convince the world
that your country has something for everyone.
|
- Un estudiante - You
are an exchange student preparing to learn Spanish in a foreign country. Think about what might be important
for your journey (such as low-crime rate, good schools, available housing,
etc.) and find the country that best meets your needs. You can write letters to the embassies
requesting information. It
must be clear why you chose your country above the others.
|
| After
one period of researching various Spanish-speaking countries, you should
choose three countries that most meet your needs: as a political leader,
a travel agent, or an exchange student. At that time, inform me of
the countries you have chosen. There will be no more than two
individuals working on the same country. Of the top three choices,
I will assign each student with a country. Once the country has been
decided, further research is necessary to address specific issues within
that country according to your role. |
|
|
|
|
|
1.
As the political leader of your country, you will have devised a plan
to attract new residents to your country.
This plan will be clearly developed and presented to those of us representing
other countries. We will ask your questions and ultimately decide
if your country is worth moving to. You will need to have a large
hand-drawn map as a way of explaining your country, its natural resources,
jobs, and environment. You should also have a flag of your country
to wave high with pride as you boast of your country's uniqueness.
|
|
2.
As the country’s travel agent, you should know all the major sites and
attractions. You should outline different trips that can be taken,
as well as packages including actual flight and hotel information.
You must present us with a travel brochure including some of the above
information, as well as photos and descriptions. The travel brochure
must be typed and professionally completed.

3.
As an exchange student, you should compile a list of available schools
and apartments with costs. Choose a program of study and be sure
it’s available at the school of your choice. You must also be able
to share information about the entertainment your country has to offer.
You will then write a letter to the school introducing yourself and indicating
your intentions for the following year.
